Firm competitiveness: A general model and a manufacturing application

Competitiveness of firms is studied mostly from a strategic management perspective. It only rarely subject analysis the viewpoint operations. In this paper, we aim to connect these two approaches using resource-based view firm, popularly called RBV theories. First, provide comprehensive definition firm competitiveness and propose conceptual index (Firm Index or FCI) measure it, based on theory dynamic capabilities. Further, demonstrate use FCI concept, with an application Hungarian manufacturing sector, utilizing survey responses sample 113 collected as part ongoing research project focusing industry. We employ exploratory- confirmatory factor construct context-specific indicator sample.
